Cor Deo Overview:

Introducing… the Gospel is an article I wrote that covers the beginning of Mark and some other bits as well. Click here to read it.

Andy Gemmill and Craig Dyer have given a set of four lectures as an overview of the Gospel of Mark you can find by clicking on the titles below:

Best Commentaries lists three top commentaries for Mark (generally, this site does a good job telling you which commentaries are most respected on an academic level). Those commentaries are:

These are expensive and generally hard to find, but I have access to them via Perlego, what my seminary uses for textbooks. Please feel free to reach out to me about a specific passage, and I can get the comments on those passages to you!

Free commentaries out there are Warren Wiersbe’s New Testament commentary (which is generally helpful, but not always; he has some weird exegesis and theological positions), and John Calvin’s commentaries, free if you click here.

Dane Ortlund has put out a helpful 12-week study of Mark you can read along and take notes with. Find that by clicking here or asking me for a copy.

For help with the ending of Mark (Mark 16) see this page.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon has some great sermons on Mark, all listed here on The Spurgeon Library.

Peter Mead and Andy Cordle have preached a four-part series on Mark:

A sermon series on the Gospel of Mark from Trinity Chippenham:

A sermon series by Peter Mead and others at Trinity Chippenham, in the first weeks of the church plant, back in 2014.

A sermon series by Timothy Montgomery (and a guest speaker) through Mark in 2023:

A sermon series through the Gospel of Mark, by Ryan Bowman and others, at Fellowship of Wildwood

Monergism.org usually has good, free resources as well. You can find those here and here.
