We firmly believe that there is objective truth, and that we can know it.
We believe that the majority of interactions (offline, and especially online) are confused, jumbled, and un-productive.
Point by Point is a project which seeks to cut through much of the confusion by doing what its name implies: Going point by point through arguments both for and against the key issues of our day.
We believe that this is only as useful as it reflects the realities of the debates of our age. In other words, we seek to steal-man every argument and every rebuttal.
We also believe that rational argumentation is only the foundation to seeing real change.
The truth we want to lead people toward is not a set of truths, but the Truth, the Person of Jesus Christ Himself.
Our desire is that Christians would ground themselves in the truth and grow into maturity in Christ.
Our desire is that the Spirit would work in the hearts of non-believers through His truth, bringing them to faith in Christ, and drawing their hearts in love to God and those around them.
We have built up this archive to achieve online and offline usefulness: to be used online as bullet-point responses in a fast paced, low-attention span environment; to be used offline as quick reference points.
We suspect that this will be far more useful to people who engage in offline, face-to-face conversations, than with online dialogues – however we believe that both mediums are important.
With all of this in mind, we have written, collected, and designed these pages.
We hope they are of use to you.
