Introduction

“Why should I care?” I’m under no illusion as to my lack of understanding, experience, and wisdom. I’m young, in more ways than one. Still, this commentary isn’t reliant on me in my skill. All commentaries worth their weight are built upon the rock of the full council of God. My goal here is not to write something new. If I hadn’t learned that in my own experience (which I have time and time again) Ecclesiastes alone would have made the exceptionally clear. Rather, this is as much for me and my work than for you. It is easy to forget things in a world of commotion and full of the duties of life. Therefore, several years ago, I set out to write out my thoughts and collect quotes on Scripture. This is the continuation and publication of that effort. Not only that, but this work is based on the conviction that the anti-reality, that rival cosmology to Trinitarian theology and the created order which is growing in influence and strength today, flourishes in the culture which is disconnected from Biblical knowledge and wisdom, and that much of the churches failure to war against this darkness owes to her inability to first live and hold to God’s reality and Trinitarian theology. This work seeks to both combat this anti-reality and hold to reality as defined by God by holding fast to the Scripture as closely as possible.

“How does this work?” As this is an ongoing project, the commentaries will not be published as Posts. Instead, they will be given as downloadable Microsoft Word documents within each commentary. Each Book will usually be divided by chapter for simple navigation, with a few exceptions.

“How can I participate?” I’d love any feedback. If something made sense, let me know. If something made no sense, let me know that too! If you wish I tackled another passage, let me know. If you have thoughts of your own, sure, let me know that too. If you have resources you think I would benefit from, send them my way. If you just want to share your mind or heart, have at it! Above all, prayer that God’s Word would be honored in it’s entirety and that His kingdom would grow, that would be the best thing anyone could do!
