Christian, Do Not Withdraw from Politics
Today is Victims of Communism Day. It is both a day for honoring those who have died under the godless system of Communism, and a reminder of the evil they experienced. Over 100 million people have died because of this false theology around the world; by war, murder, and starvation. Today, because of Communistic policies and practices, approximately 300 million people face starvation in the upcoming winter (or as they call it, “acute food insecurity”). And so, this is to the Christians who are willing to listen: Do not give up the world; do not disobey God and let this world plunge into a thousand years of darkness.

Revival or Reformation?
A short unfolding of the Book of James… I think James is pointing out what is and must be at the bottom of all the visible bad behavior: filthiness and rampant wickedness (1:21). Bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in their hearts (3:14). Why does James take so much time pointing this out? And why would this not be apparent and clear? Because they are being “false to the truth” (3:14). “Where there is disorder and every vile practice,” says James, there will be underneath that “jealousy and selfish ambition” (3:16). They aren’t living life in the light of “the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change” (1:17). They are living in another wisdom, not from God (which would be good and perfect 1:17), an “earthly, unspiritual, and demonic” wisdom.

In This Present Tyranny
In the course of a rising Tyranny, whether in a government or in an organization, there comes a time when freemen must see in their wisdom the ends to which those who would be their Tyrants are using the current course of events as a means of achieving such Tyranny. There comes a time, if Tyranny is to be stopped before it comes to full power, where those who would be the guards to their children’s future security must realize that and understand how the events in their day are being used to further that movement towards Tyranny and away from a hope in God and reliance on Him. There comes a time when the watchmen in their courage must stand and cry that the enemies are already in the gates. Otherwise, Tyranny has already won. For freedom cannot survive without her sight, without her wisdom, without her courage, without her virtue; and without these, what is freedom but a dark cage from which there is no escape? There comes a day in the course of human events when one people declare the causes which impel them to separation from those who would be their Tyrants. What time will that be, America, unless you weigh carefully your present situation today?
