The Heroic Heart of Jesus

When you are confused or hurt by those you trust, remember this: in Him there is no darkness or shadow; no fickleness or change (1 John 1:5; James 1:17). When other helpers fail and other comforts flee, He has made His home with you forever (John 14:23).

~ Daniel Hames, The New Life, p. 33

Fix your heart here, in the God who does not change. In His hour, Christ died and rose again, gaining the victory over sin, death, and hell – and He is towards His church today as He was then: winning her affection through stooping low to save, serve, and care for her in her sin, weaknesses, and afflictions.

Let the heroic heart of Christ grip you today. Trusting in His unchanging courage for us, let Him strengthen our hearts from the inside out.
