God with us, God for us, humble unto death. Wow! What a God we have.
In Philippians 2:5-8, Paul does not say that the Son of God became Jesus Christ. He does not make a difference between the Person before and after incarnation. The same Person with the Father for eternity is the exact same Person who became incarnate. Paul says that Jesus Christ, “though in the form of God… emptied himself by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.”
Don’t miss that. Never miss that. In that is the wonder of what we celebrate at Christmas. God Himself “Pleased to become as nothing as you!”[2]
Let’s Chat
God’s humility. How should this shape our celebration this Christmas?
