Let’s Chat: Pleased to Dwell Introduction

At the centre of heaven is Christ, lovingly adored as the forever Lord of all. At the centre of Christmas is Christ, frail and cradled in the tender arms of a young mother. How can the two be put together? Heavenly glory and human frailty? That is the real wonder of Christmas.

This Christmas, let’s chat! Come with me and let’s think together about the God who is pleased to dwell with us.

Peter Mead has put out a book, and a series of free videos, titled Pleased to Dwell. My church in the States is being encouraged to do this, and it’s a bit of a tradition for many families here. So, this December, I invite you to join me as I read and think about it. Let’s chat together through this content. I’ll share my thoughts, and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section on this blog or on Peter’s YouTube videos.

You can find the book here: https://uk.10ofthose.com/product/9781781914267/pleased-to-dwell-paperback

What a wonderful thought that this is the God who is! God, the delight of heaven, would step down into our world, and into our darkness. Imagine, our weaknesses and frailties taken on and met by the good God for heaven Himself. Entering into the world to be with us just as we all enter this world: “born of woman” (Galatians 4:4-6). The volumes that this speaks of who our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, is!

On the incarnation being key to our salvation, you can read one of my more technical essays titled The Three Unions.
