Can the Trinity be understood? So many people in our day say no. Others say yes and give a long amalgamation of technical theo-jargon (a response equally bad as “no” in my view). Inevitably, the conversation turns to the question of analogy. Many think, “maybe we can help people accept the Trinity by using some analogy, a comparison to make this weird little doctrine more palatable.” Is the Trinity comparable to a pagan god? Or is our God altogether different and beautiful? We must answer this question! For the Trinity isn’t just a doctrine, weird or otherwise; it’s who our God is!
