Blessed by God we place before youth not a choice merely, but a magnet. The voice that says, “Give me, My son, thy heart,” speaks with divine authority, with constraining love, with will-renewing power. It is the voice of Him who formed the heart, who alone can satisfy it, who alone can mould it. And the magnet which God has appointed to draw our hearts is His own Son; and that by which His own Son draws hearts to Himself is by His dying love. “And I, when I am lifted up, will draw all men unto Me.” Is it strange that it is so? that the love of Christ, dying for the ungodly, should decide the choice, should break the will, and melt the heart?
