In This Present Tyranny

I wrote this at the end of last year. Deciding whether to publish it or not has been difficult. But I have now because it is my conviction that I can do nothing else. I also want to write an accompanying piece to this, titled, “In His Glory,” but as of yet that work has not been written. This is a longer paper (like all of my posts it seems), and so I have added a series of quotes from the paper so that you get a taste of it before you spend your time reading it.

In the course of a rising Tyranny, whether in a government or in an organization, there comes a time when freemen must see in their wisdom the ends to which those who would be their Tyrants are using the current course of events as a means of achieving such Tyranny. From page 2.

…freedom cannot survive without her sight, without her wisdom, without her courage, without her virtue; and without these, what is freedom but a dark cage from which there is no escape? From page 2.

What Churchill foresaw has come.  His century fought in the war for the freedom of our century.  Our century, “The new century, will witness the great war for the existence of the Individual.”  From page 4.

There was a time that we look back on and say that “never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.”  In our case in its present state, the cry may soon be, as in some places it already is, “Never was so much given up to the detriment of so many for the sake of so few.”  From page 6.
