I wrote my first college research paper on Hegemony, Critical Race Theory, Intersectionality, and Christianity. I began writing it July of 2020 and finished it in the early days of August of 2020. It has 24 pages, plus 6 works cited pages, amounting to over seven thousand words. Having shared it with a few of the people I respect and trust most, and having been encouraged by them to publish it, I have determined to do so here. It will be published on this blog in 8 parts, beginning March 14, 2021, and continuing until March 21, 2021.
My goal in publishing this is not to necessarily point you back to my paper as your primary source document (it is only a humble college research paper). Rather, I would have this be an introduction to the conversation from a Christian perspective, encourage those who haven’t seen layman papers like this, and have this paper point to those sources I cite, specifically the Bible.
In the past months the division specifically in my home country has become more severe. My study has moved in parallel with the realities of my times. As for my opinions, they have only been confirmed, and my connections strengthened. As for my passion, as those who know me or have read my other works could testify, it has only grown fierier. However, I have not updated this paper to match the present. It exists as I turned it in, except for a few slight modifications to hopefully make it more readable as a series of blog posts. It did not, when I wrote it, contain all or most of my thoughts on these issues, and it certainly does not now. Therefore, I ask you to please email me with questions, comments, positions I hold that I ought to clarify, or something else you want to pick my brain about. As Melvin Tinker wrote in his book on these matters, “When all is said and done there will always be more to be said and more to be done.”
Throughout these posts you will find in-blog links to a works cited page specifically for this paper. Find the links to my sources there.
